Who else had to sit though last weeks WT study, 6th Jan 2019 - "Buy Truth and Never Sell It"
by skin inthat title, “buy truth and never sell it”.
is that not our goal has jw’s, to try to sell the truth to those who have the right heart condition to accept it?.
para 9: “when the fishermen peter and andrew were invited by jesus to become “fishers of men,” they “abandoned their nets.” (matt.

Should calling someone 'Nazi' be made illegal?
by LoveUniHateExams ina rabble-rouser called james goddard and a crowd of pro-brexit people called anna soubry 'nazi' recently.. the same crowd also called owen jones a few names.. i don't know these people but they seem to be unsavory people - they were certainly not behaving themselves.. the met police are looking into the matter, to see if the crowd did anything illegal.
a journalist asked the police officer if calling someone 'nazi' is illegal.
the officer said 'that's what we're looking into'.. first, this crowd behaved badly, no question.. what i find fascinating, though, is the speed of response from authorities.. calling people fascist or nazi has been going on for decades.

I knew that mindlessly invoking "Hitler" or "nazis" in an argument was some sort of fallacy, but I didn't know it had a name!

1. Plausible.
2. Couple of things: Is the "so-called Turing Test" actually a test of a "machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equals that of a human"? Also, note "in certain areas"
3. Not familiar with this.
4. No.
5. "accelerating the arrival of AI and the quantum-computing era" -- how specifically?
6. Ok, but 5g has its limitations
7. Yes.
8. "fixed-route public transport and unmanned delivery around commercial buildings and campuses" Plausible.
9. Plausible.
10. Plausible.
Yes AI is "hot" and there's a lot of cool stuff out there; but TBH, the math/algorithms underpinning it all hasn't advanced much since the 80s (the implementation/hardware has, though)

Was disfellowshipping really sanctioned by God? Please share your honest views according to your Bible views
by Strugglingrsa inwhat were the writers of the bible telling christians when they wrote : “stop keeping company with anyone called a brother who is sexually immoral or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man.” (1 corinthians 5:11) regarding everyone who “does not remain in the teaching of the christ,” we read: “do not receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him.
for the one who says a greeting to him is a sharer in his wicked works.” (2 john 9-11.

Even if the person has taken some stand based on a conscience matter. They are treated the same as an adulterer or pedophile. - BOBCAT
If they were treated the same as a pedophile, they would get off scot free!

Do elders still ask inactive members to write a letter to disassociating yourself from the Congregation?
by RULES & REGULATIONS indo today's elders ever meet with inactive members and pressure them to write a letter disassociating themselves from the congregation stating that, ''you no longer wish to a jehovah witness"?.
i was baptized at the young age of 16. after turning 18, i stopped attending meetings, field service, and all jehovah's witness activities.
i wanted to be with my high school friends, go to rock concerts, have a girlfriend, and live like a normal teen.

i've been lurking for about a year, the first couple of times i was frightened and literally shaking visiting an apostate site but it's the only place i can come to for sanity.
the religion has become a nut house.

Arbor day?
a priest, don Juan Abern Samtrés, which, according to the chronicles, "convinced of the importance of trees for health, hygiene, decoration, nature, environment and customs, decides to plant trees and give a festive air. The festival began on Carnival Tuesday with the ringing of two bells of the church, and the Middle and the Big. After the Mass, and even coated with church ornaments, don Juan, accompanied by clergies, teachers and a large number of neighbours, planted the first tree, a poplar, in the place known as Valley of the Ejido.
Fuck. Not even that.

I take CBD oil for sleep -- love my CBD!
I know others -- including elders -- who use it as well. No one has a problem with it.
